Sunday is the International Day of Prayer for the persecuted church. Christian persecution is on the rise worldwide as more than an estimated 340 million believers suffer for their faith. The current crisis in Afghanistan has Christians fleeing or hiding from extreme violence, and there are many other places where Christians are facing extraordinary duress.
