This song was written by Irving Berlin in May 1927. It was introduced in the musical film Puttin' on the Ritz in 1930. The title derives from the slang expression "to put on the Ritz", meaning to dress very fashionably. This video was done to add a visual interpretation and provide closed captioning for the hearing impaired.
