The End of the Beginning

When I first got into #bushcraft I wanted to make a camp so I built a shelter in the woods behind my Mother's house. It would become my base camp and it's nickname is the "Pallet Palace". For years I have referred to it as my oasis in the desert, my own little spot to get away from the every day grind. The basecamp has served me well over the years and it will always be a special place.

I've enjoyed #camping here over the years but, now, times are changing. New paths are ahead and new adventures are on the horizon and I am excited with anticipation for those new adventures to come. All things must come to an end. The base camp series here at this shelter comes to a close. Tonight, we wrap up this base camp series with a special #Halloween edition. It goodbye to the series but not to the camp itself. That day will come eventually and I hope to be able to return to this shelter occasionally as long as it stands providing that I am allowed. This camp will live in my heart forever. I will never forget it.
