COVID-19 and Sex
All individuals under shelter-in-place orders should remain at home and limit their contact with others in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among other people.
But do you have the ability to have sex?
Here are some suggestions on how to enjoy sex while avoiding the transmission of COVID-19
Whatever your sexual behavior, close contact (within 6 feet or 2 meters) with an infected individual may expose you to the virus that causes COVID-19.
The virus spreads through respiratory droplets produced by coughing, sneezing, or talking. These droplets may be inhaled or fall in someone's mouth or nose. Kissing or other sexual contact with spit may expose you to the virus. COVID-19 carriers may also transmit respiratory droplets to skin and personal items. Infecting a sexual partner is as simple as touching these surfaces and then contacting their mouth, nose, or eyes The COVID-19 virus may also be transmitted via feces. You may acquire COVID-19 through sexual acts that expose you to feces.
However, the COVID-19 virus has been found in the semen of individuals who have had or are recovering from the virus. More study is required to establish whether COVID-19 is sexually transmissible.
The CDC advises that after completely immunized, you may resume regular activities. The use of a mask or social distancing in any situation is likewise prohibited. 2 weeks after receiving a second dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine or a single dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
If you haven't received a COVID-19 vaccination, avoid close contact (within 6 feet, or 2 meters). This involves avoiding sexual interaction with non-family members. If you or your spouse is sick or has COVID-19, don't kiss or intercourse until you're both well. Also, if you or your spouse have a chronic disease, you should avoid sex.
During the COVID-19 epidemic, the safest form of sexual activity is masturbation. Wash your hands and sex toys before and after masturbating. Consider communicating with your spouse through text, pictures, or videos, preferably utilizing an encrypted platform to safeguard your privacy.
You may establish or sustain closeness with a distant relationship without sex. Take virtual dates, listen to music together, exchange notes, or dress up for one other. Be unique.
In case you are not vaccinated and are sexually active with someone outside your family, take these precautions:
Minimize your sexual partners.
Avoid sex partners with COVID-19 symptoms.
Don't kiss.
Avoid sexual practices that include feces, urine, or semen.
Take care with condoms and dental dams.
Wear a mask while sexing.
Shower and wash your hands before and after.
Wash sex toys before using.
Cleanse the area where you sex with soap or alcohol wipes.
