John 15:26-16:4

The Triune God and especially the Spirit tells you the Truth about yourselves. Your sinfulness is so great that it cannot be comprehended. It must be believed. But likewise, and even more so, the love of God in Christ is so great that it cannot be comprehended. It must be heard to be believed. Thus, God, the Spirit equips you with the sword that is the Word of God. And the Spirit attacks and defends you through this Word. The Gospel of Jesus’ forgiveness fights against the devil, the world, and our flesh. Christ, the valiant One, fights for you and arms you for the fight.
