When a Nation's God is the Lord, Psa. 33:12

Delivered during the Thanksgiving Day Service, 11.25.2021. In a society that is becoming increasingly secular, holidays that were traditionally seen in a Christian context are being re-imagined and re-instituted as Godless events. Thanksgiving is no exception. But in a unique way, the celebration of Thanksgiving brings to the national attention the reality that indeed this country was established by Christians and built on Christian principles. In this Thanksgiving day meditation, we will consider the historical and spiritual roots of the Christians who first migrated to North America and why their faithfulness helped frame the foundations of both our government and our way of life. In particular, we will discuss the blessings that occur when a nation's God is the Lord, and the devastating results when He is not.
