Did you know that in The Princess Bride...
The machine used on Wesley in the pit of despair was initially created for a 1983 James Bond film, Never Say Never Again. The Art director Richard Holland, who was working on the Bond film at the time, had mentioned in an interview that the torture device constructed was originally meant for James Bond, but then the idea was later scrapped. This left it open for it to be re-used in The Princess Bride.
