Lies About Spurgeon and Christmas (12/19/2016) 2 of 2

"Holiday Hunters" LIE in order to bolster their fight to kill Christmas. One of their LIES is to claim that Charles Haddon Spurgeon, the renown 19th century English Calvinist preacher, not only denounced the pagan aspects of the Roman Catholic "Christmas" but that he denounced ANY participation in Christmas by Baptists and other professing Bible Believers.

In this study, we will provide PROOF that Spurgeon held the same view we do. That he not only followed the precepts of Romans 14 in not condemning those who observed Christmas in a Biblical manner of remembrance of the birth of Christ, but that HE CELEBRATED CHRISTMAS with his wife and others.

After presenting this proof from an 1870 edition of Spurgeon's own, "Sword and Trowel," newspaper, we will then present a reading of his Christmas Eve sermon preached in 1865 titled, "Holy Work For Christmas".
