The Bishop's Bible was an important step in the lineage of English language Bible translations. First printed in 1568 during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, its flaws provided the motivation for the King James version.
Except for the front pieces, the pages shown are from the collection of the Museum of the English Bible, Cumberland, Maryland.
