Several people were injured and arrested on Sunday following a COVID-19 protest that turned violent in Brussels, Belgian police confirmed. The protest followed new measures announced on December 3, including mandatory mask wearing for most primary school children. Demonstrators were also protesting rules imposed in October that oblige people to show COVID-19 passes to access bars and restaurants, Reuters reported. According to CNN, police clashed with demonstrators and used water cannons and tear gas on some protesters who threw objects and attempted to dismantle barricades.
