solar, battery, crank....all three charge the radio and allow you to charge your phone...I waited too late to purchase and was gouged a bit. I think the normal price is between $25 and $30 shipped.

Aside from that the item works as advertised. Make sure you plug in the rechargeable battery pack prior to doing a crank charge.
