In their 1990 best-seller Children at Risk, Dr. James Dobson and Gary Bauer, President of American Values, warned readers that there was a “civil war of values” being waged, and a generation of children was the prize to be awarded to the victor. Thirty-one years later, the battle for the hearts and minds of our children has only intensified. About Today's Guest: Gary Bauer
Gary Bauer is a conservative Christian family advocate, president of American Values, chairman of Campaign for Working Families, and emeritus Washington director of CUFI Action Fund. He has a daily radio commentary that airs on the Bott Radio Network, and a daily “end of day” current affairs newsletter that is emailed to hundreds of thousands of constituents. Previously, he served on the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, was president of Family Research Council, and senior vice president of Focus on the Family. He also served as chief domestic policy advisor to President Ronald Reagan, and Under Secretary of Education. He is the author of several books, including "Children at Risk," co-authored with Dr. James Dobson. He and his wife, Carol, live in Fairfax, Virginia.
