Despite crime being down and the world being much safer than when we were kids, helicopter parenting has reached epidemic proportions. That sucks. When Skenazy sees a couple get in trouble because their 8-year-old was playing in a nearby park unsupervised she wants more parents to let their kids outside. They can't arrest us all.
