Travel chaos as heavy snow cripples Japan

Hectic snowfall caused traffic chaos, flight disruptions and canceled train routes in central Japan yesterday, with record drifts even recorded in some areas.

Over 3,200 households had power outages in the region, Kansai Electric Power said, as officials warned even heavier snow was forecast overnight.
