How Cold Is Too Cold for the RK25? - E62

This one is short! We all know diesel engines have a rougher time in the cold winters. Do I need to get a block heater or are we just fine with only the glow plugs?

It’s snowing in Kentucky, Michigan is getting a blizzard, and it’s 12F in northern Ohio. Nothing but light snow here and there in these frigid temperatures.

We go out this morning to try and start the RK25. Guess what? It starts just fine. It’s a little rough at first but not bad.

We then get a text that one of my co-workers’ vehicle doesn’t start. We had super winds last night that made the temperature feel like minus 5 or something like that.
