This video is intended to be a guide to help TheUncleFester13 and anyone else to Detail strip a 1911a1. Detail strip as opposed to a field strip. For detail cleaning, maintenance, or replacement of worn or broken parts. Or upgrade. Such as a shorter or longer trigger or mainspring housing or wider or longer Thumb safety or Tang safety. The basic frame in most cases will remain unaltered, however, the addition of certain tang safeties would require alteration of the G.I. Spec frame.Many Beavertail type tang safeties will require this alteration.
