Yes, there are certain interesting parallels and certain interesting distinctions between these two beasts. Let’s review a few because it's important that you see the parallels as well as the distinctions that keep them separate. They are not the same beast. The fourth beast of Daniel 7 represents the Roman Empire, the fourth empire that ruled over the world between 168 BC and AD 476. The composite beast in Revelation 13 represents a crisis government that will rise up and rule over all nations for 42 months during the Great Tribulation.

The fourth beast of Daniel 7 is in the past; the composite beast in Revelation 13 is in the future. Point number two, the monster beast in Daniel 7 had 10 horns, and the little horn plucked-up 3 of the 10. But the composite beast in Revelation 13 not only has 10 horns, it has 7 heads as well – a total of 17 parts. This is a critical point!

After Rome fell to the 10 horns, the little horn power uprooted 3 of them and dominated the 7 remaining horns of Europe for 1,260 years. In fact, the Dominion of the Roman Catholic Church became known as the Holy Roman Empire!

Now, the 7 heads of the crisis government that is going to appear in the future represent the 7 religious systems of the world. Some people say that the composite beast in Revelation 13 is the Roman Catholic Church. That’s not possible...not at all. The Roman Catholic Church is not going to govern or rule over the other 6 religious systems of the world. It’s just not possible! We had several miserable centuries in ancient history called the Crusades, when the forces of religion faced each other, and one religion never could dominate the others.

I'll show you in this video that when the devil physically appears, he will be the 8th king...he will rule over the seven heads; and the parallel here is, the devil will dominate the 7 heads during the Great Tribulation just as the papacy dominated the 7 horns of Europe during the dark ages.
