There are three reasons why the House of Representatives has a select committee to investigate the Jan. 6th breach at the Capitol.

1. To reinforce that the breach can be falesly characterized as an insurrection,

2. To keep Trump from running again in 2024, and

3. To protect Nancy Pelosi for the dereliction of her duty, as Speaker, to ensure that security would be adequate on Jan. 6th
