I went down to the school today, to ask the teacher, and see what she'd say,

So I went downtown, drove through the ruins, and asked the mayor if she knew

A plan to heal the great divide, so that our nation should all survive, And she said,

So I got down on my knees to pray, I asked the Lord if he'd explain,
