With temperatures reaching more than 40C in certain parts of the country, an Argentine TV correspondent collapsed live on air due to exhaustion.

The reporter, Carlos Ferrara, is in a stable condition – but video of his dramatic fall has spread across social media like wildfire.

While heatwaves are fairly common in Argentina, this particular one has been described as “very extreme.”
