According to the IBIS research, China's fast food business would produce $120 billion in 2022, up nearly 8% from 2020.
KFC first opened its doors in China in 1987, ushering in the fast food industry. McDonald's and other western fast food businesses quickly followed, recognising the market's potential of 1.4 billion people. China's fast food business has exploded in popularity over the last two decades. China is one of the world's largest producers of industrial and consumer goods, as well as the world's fastest-growing consumer market.
