Luke is the founder of We Are Change (wearechange.org), comprised of independent journalists, concerned citizens, activists, and anyone who wants to shape the direction our world is going in. Many of us first came to know Luke from his role on the Timcast IRL podcast.

In this rant Luke breaks down the insanity surrounding Big Tech censorship that is growing ever more prevalent each and every year. It is so important for people to be able to think freely in order to form their own identity and to come to understand the world in their own way. But this is not the world view of the tyrannical elites and Big Tech oligarchs who have decided that we are all too stupid to think for ourselves and that we need to be told what to think, in order to keep us safe of course.

It seems that in the never ending pursuit of "safety" we continue to sacrifice more and more of our freedoms, all the while deluding ourselves into thinking that we are "progressive." In a world where Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter are the modern day public square, we have unwillingly elected a small group of oligarchs to monitor, control, and censor what is and what is not acceptable speech.

Yet perhaps the most frightening aspect of all of the Big Tech overreach is their ability to algorithmically shape an individual's reality by filtering the information they see, and feeding them a select pool of pre-approved sources, without them even knowing it! It is up to each of us as individuals to push back on this censorship and seek sources of information that are not preselected for us by the Big Tech algorithms. It is your civic duty as a free citizen to ensure that you remain educated and self-reliant. Even further, it is your duty to educate your fellow citizens and hold them accountable for maintaining freedom for everyone.
