Thank you Davy Johnston for your advice and opinion on the early stages of this project.

This was my most difficult song to create to date since I restarted writing songs for YouTube about four months ago. Shortest time to write was recital of The Waterfall most others were about 5 to 8 days on average.

The original intention was to write a 80s synth pop with possible goth overtones inspired by Ultravox, Soft Cell etc. The low to the mix distorted Viper 300m added more grit than was usual and the hard hitting combo of mono 808 and poly synth gave a more industrial sound.

I found it very difficult to write any type of lyrics for. So I started to add lib nonsense words in any order to get the feel of the melody line for vocals. And the I kept on saying light in the chorus.

From there I changed light to night as the song seemed to have a dark edge and came up with the concept of a college romance of someone stricken by a goth / metal girl some of it via pure culture shock. I imagined the protagonist to be conservative in nature and swayed by the not only the girls beauty but her attitude and lifestyle.

All in all took me a month to five weeks to do this track and I have done other songs and projects in the meantime. Im very happy with the final results. Apart from the LTD Viper 300M guitar and vocals everything else was done on the AKAI MPC Live 2 including mixing and mastering and fx.
