Why Small Spinning Magnet Propels Boat with Magnets on Side 1

The smaller previous version of this type of model was pretty quick but puzzling until it was realized the rotating magnet was closer to the magnets on one side than the other.

Possibly what is happening here is that the momentum of the rotating magnet is translated from angular to linear when that magnet is attracted to the magnet it is closest to and the "push" is through the axle of the servo to the boat since the side magnets resist rotating.
