1577 yılında Zal Mahmud Paşa ile eşi Şah Sultan tarafından yaptırılmıştır. İsmail Orman'ın bildirdiğine göre, “Medresenin bânisi olan Şah Sultan'ın 977 (1569) yılında düzenlediği vakfiye, külliyenin başlangıçta medrese, türbe ve çeşme şeklinde planlandığına işaret etmektedir.
