Russia suspected of cyberattack on Global Affairs Canada

Global News has learned from government sources that Global Affairs Canada is scrambling to recover from a cyberattack that it suspects was conducted by Russian hackers.

It's unclear whether the attack compromised the system or any information was stolen, but it definitely disrupted email service and other aspects of the network as the government sought to thwart it.

As Mercedes Stephenson reports, the hack is also believed to be in retaliation to Canada's heightening efforts to send more military aid to Ukraine, to deter a potential Russian invasion.
