20220127 - Liberty Minute

I'm Peter Serefine and this is the Liberty Minute for Thursday, day 683 of 15 days to flatten the curve.
San Jose California just passed a new gun law. The new law passed city council 8-3 and requires gun owners to purchase liability insurance and pay an annual "harm reduction" fee.
So, the God-given and constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms is now taxed in San Jose. This can not stand.
The idea of a tax on a constitutionally guaranteed right has been tried before. When racists wanted to keep black people from voting they created a poll tax. Fortunately, the Constitution was amended to forbid it.
This "harm reduction" tax hurts the poor the most, exactly the people the so-called progressives claim to care about. What other God-given right will they tax next?
