WHY Freedom Of Speech Is SO IMPORTANT

Freedom of speech has it's cons, I'm sure we're all aware of that.
Though is censoring or deplatforming the right choice? In my opinion, no, as censoring ideas, ideologies, opinions, etc even if abhorrent, only radicalizes the group affected further, leading to more extremism and violence.
To have free discussion, to compromise with each other, to convince others, to have honest hearted debates, the power to move another human; this is our freedom of speech, this is our best way to a healthy, productive and happy society.
