The apostle Paul was an awesome Christian, but he had to work at it (1 Corinthians 9:27). Paul was not naturally gifted with spiritual excellence, rather he worked at it. He disciplined his body. He brought his body into subjection. Christianity is tough. It takes work to excel. Unfortunately, many people have been told that the Christian life is an easy life. That is simply not true (Acts 14:22).
