Are You A Parent Who Doesn’t Like To Play?

I hear it all of the time from parents. They tell me that I am not the kind of person that likes to play. They feel that this gives them an out to getting down and playing with their children. This is just an easy out. You must learn to play with your children. It is the best thing that you can do to build a strong bond with your children. I guess I am saying this. It doesn't matter if you don't like to play. You need to get over that and do it anyway.
A lot of adults don't think that they like to play, and somehow they then give themselves permission to just not play with the kids. This is a mistake, and something you truly need to look at, and reconsider.
Children need a balance of love and discipline. Part of the Love side is playing with them. That is a very loving thing to do with your children. Don't always say no. Even if you play for 10 minutes a day it is a start. Just think about it.
