Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping seeks "global dominance—hegemony for the Chinese Communist Party." He warned that the rise of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) could destabilize the rules-based international order that had been in place since World War II. Pompeo made the remarks during the Argus Americas Crude Summit 2022.
