This is an awesome piece of firearms history and helps mark the migration away from revolvers as duty weapons by peace officers in the United States. Designed to allow officers to duplicate the double action only firing philosophy of service revolvers in its "R" mode, while also allowing them to get used to double to single action styles of firearms (DA/SA) by pivoting the mechanism on the slide to the "P" designation.
