Op het ritme van de machines geeft de regisseur een inkijk op de voedselproductieprocessen in Europa. Het volledige aanbod passeert de revue: gaande van de fruitkweek in het zuiden van Spanje tot de kippenkwekerij om de hoek.

Zonder commentaar -alleen het monotone gedreun van de machines getuigt- orchestreert de regisseur dit visueel meesterlijk maar ontnuchterend schouwspel.

Het is aan de kijker om te oordelen wat voor prijs we willen betalen voor ons dagelijks brood.

For two years Nikolaus Geyrhalter focused his camera on the European food industry.

To the rhythm of the machines, the director gives an insight into the food production processes in Europe. The complete range is reviewed: ranging from fruit cultivation in the south of Spain to the chicken farm around the corner.

Without commentary - only the monotonous drone of the machines testifies - the director orchestrates this visually masterful but sobering spectacle.

It is up to the viewer to judge what price we are willing to pay for our daily bread.
