The road is located in Burnnuf Bay. It connects the island of Noirmoutier with the mainland, in the Vendée department. At low tide, the 4.5-kilometre trail becomes accessible by car or on foot. And at high tide, the road goes under water to a depth of 4 meters. The bridge was built in 1971. However, people have not abandoned the underwater road.
