Has there been any texts other than Quran before? (according to Islamic texts)

Now in reference to Quran. Its obviously not something you can understand by reading it yourself. Which is why Tafsirs are expert commentaries that borrows from witness testimony, which is also background listings in hadiths (mainly 6 strong ones in sunni islam atleast)

So Quran seems like an obvious religious ritual and not something you would normally read to get islamic practice.

But interms of islamic texts, it has a very dominance language to it. So thats what i wonder. Has there been any culture, religious culture that has been that thorough on it?

Although obviously critics argue its more a totalitarian religion.
