There are three different times in the gospel the words, "Yea, Lord" were spoken after Jesus asked a question. To the blind men, "Believest thou that I am able to do this?" They responded, "Yea, Lord."
They then immediately received their sight. Their lives were forever changed forever, as well as all those that were there that day. To this very day lives are still being changed because they said, "Yea, Lord."
Lazarus died and Martha said to Jesus, "If thou had been here our brother had not died." "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world."
Then their brother was raised to life. Their lives were changed forever, including all those that were there that day. Still lives are being changed by this powerful act of Martha saying, "Yea, Lord."
Then finally Peter. After Jesus resurrection, He asked Peter three times if Peter loved Him. Twice Peter responded, "Yea, Lord." The third time Peter did not say yea, Lord, but pressed in and said, "Lord YOU KNOW all things, YOU KNOW I love you." Then He recommissioned his life, and showed him his death at the end of his life that would glorify God. Then said "Follow Me." His life changed from that time on and he became a new man. Lives were changed forever, and continue to do so. Because Peter answered in the affirmative, "Yea, Lord."
To the blind men: "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" Yea, Lord. To Martha: "Do you believe this word that I have spoken to you? Yea, Lord. To Peter: Do you love Me?" Yea, Lord. It all ended in love. The ultimate reason we say, "Yea, Lord."
How does this relate to you in the hard things? When you say "yes, Lord" to His ways, and obey Him in His word, and in directions shown, powerful things will happen in your life. Things you could not have imagined. Because you will say, "Yea, Lord." Lives around you will change forever. "Believe ye that I am able to do this?" is meant for the hardest things you will have to do from time to time. At every point in your life, one or another of these yes's will become a word of life and peace.
In 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 it reads, "For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts." "My faith rests on on what I am, or shall be, or feel, or know, but in what Christ is, in what He has done, and in what He is doing for me." ~Charles Spurgeon
