Spotify has decided to put a warning on Joe Rogan's podcasts in response to the calls to censor him. After a few artists began to protest by removing their music from the platform, and many more subscribers canceled their subscriptions it was important for them to get ahead of the controversy. It's reminiscent of Tipper Gore's obsession in the late 20th century to censor Rap and Heavy Metal music. As her group, the Parents Music Resource Center, began to demand action from the record companies the record companies agreed to put a "parental advisory" on music with "explicit lyrics". Gore's objective was to reduce the consumption of music that she considered bad for society, music with sex, drugs, and violence. If you've listened to the radio lately you know she failed.
