‘MEGAFLASH’: World-record lightning bolt stretches 767km - 477 miles across 3 US states

Meteorologists have confirmed this week that a massive bolt of lightning that blitzed across Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi in April 2020 struck 477.2 miles - 767 km.

They also found that a bolt in Argentina and Uruguay in 2020 was the longest-lasting at 17.3 seconds - both world records.
