Living with Chronic Illness: My Story and Advice for the Affected

Chronic illness has impacted my life since my early 20's, and continues to be disabling to this day. It is a nightmare that never ends. It has ruined entire decades, taken many of what should have been the best years of my life, led to chemical dependencies, and incredible disappointments and hardships for the people around me. But, survive we must, and over the years I have learned a tremendous amount. There are natural remedies for many symptoms, dietary changes work wonders, and psychological tricks that can prevent suicide.
Aside from my experience with symptom mitigation and diet, I have advice for caretakers and those living with people that struggle with chronic illness. Often times family and friends are incredibly toxic, even with the best of intentions and if the illness is CFS or something that leaves the affected person appearing normal, devastating skepticism from family and friends, and even outright accusations of faking or mental illness are extremely common and beyond infuriating.
