Michael Franks and Mercy get the nod this morning for the Segue City Special custom made by our own Mayor who still appears to have too much time on his hands. Michael Franks' lyrics are as interestingly strange as the ones Bernie Taupin used to write for Elton John but it works just the same. The song by Mercy dates back to the Sixties and necking in the backseat of cars... or so we're told...

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
