Wild Life, Wild Night

Wild times for everybody - that's the theme of today's Segue City Special. Talking Heads' "Wild Life" bangs into Van Morrison's "Wild Night" and there you are. Certainly not a sleepy segue and it should help keep everybody awake for that last minute shopping and worrying about what to get somebody who has gotten you something for Christmas and you didn't get them something so now you're feeling guilty. And there's no more gifts you got in the past that you stuck in the closet to "re-gift" to people like this who gave you something that they've probably "re-gifted" to you. And it all turns out to be a more devious game of "paying it forward."...

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
