Thankful In Heart

Though the miles distance us, we are one in heart.
Thankful cannot be discounted when bound with love.
Commitment is not measured by a house address,
When loyalty defines devotion’s map to chart.
Darling, you are always near and treasured by me.

In sunshine and in warmth, in your love I’m living.
When rain pelts the landscape, I tuck you close to me.
Absent is chill of snow and sleet because of you.
Dates on the calendar are those of Thanksgiving.
I cherish the memory of moments we’ve shared.

Lots of holidays will come and with time will go.
The hours may slip by quickly or be too drawn-out.
There shall arrive seasons full of warmth, rain or snow--
Yet, it’s certain that my love you’ll not be without,
For we are sweethearts forever, “thankful in heart”!
