I Fall to Pieces Loving You

We start off today with Linda Ronstadt doing her take on Patsy Cline's "I Fall To Pieces" and then slide into Raul Malo and the Mavericks to continue on with the "countrified" Segue City Week. It's a shame that Neil Diamond and Linda Ronstadt both got Parkinson's and can no longer sing. Really nothing worse could happen to a singer who loves what he or she does...

Being Wednesday we're staring at the phone to somehow maybe it ring and wish the Mayor would roll in this morning with more doughnuts. He doesn't need any but we like them...

The Mayor asked us to go back through time, back past even the Fifties and on into the Big Band era for today's Segue City Special so Dinah Shore with some help from Glenn Miller and his Orchestra leads this one off into Gladys Knight and the Pips in a segue that actually works on a variety of levels - some we all get and apparently one only the Mayor gets... he's been acting strange now for some time but the checks keep showing up and he even brings the doughnuts most mornings so who are we to say anything?...

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
