I'm In Need of You

The Mayor is on a tear again this weekend and came up with this segue today between Paul Carrack and Peter Frampton featuring a softer side of both of them. Carrack was with several bands having hits - Ace, Mike and the Mechanics and Squeeze plus his solo career and Frampton was in several bands too before hitting his stride as a solo artist. Both of them are still banging around even now.

Today's segue continues with the Mayor's predilection for "oooie gooie" mixes which for some reason he keeps going to though he won't say why. All we have to do is come up with some pithy phrasing here as to the segue itself and that's all. Besides we can knock this out on Friday afternoons and still be home in time for wrasslin' or something else on the boob tube...

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
