19-Year-Old’s Body Believed to Have Been Found 10 Years Later

A 10-year-old cold case may have been solved. Kara Nichols, an aspiring model, was 19 years old when she was reported missing by her family in 2012. Her body was never found. Recently investigators reopened the case. “There was critical information given in that in interview, which provided a significant new lead based on that lead, a search warrant was obtained,” said El Paso County Sheriff Bill Elder. Remains found have been tentatively identified as Nichols and a suspect has been arrested in connection with her death.
