What makes a successful priest?

Short meditations on the criteria by which priests are to be judged.

1.Stand in innocence before of the Lord's altar,
(Live a virtuous and blameless life)

2. To proclaim the Gospel of God's kingdom,
(Preach the Gospel at all times. When necessary, using words)

3. To minister the Word of God's truth,
(To teach correct doctrine and apply it appropriately)

4. Offer to God spiritual gifts and sacrifices;
(serve the divine liturgy, to pray, and intercede on the behalf of others)

5. To renew God's people through the font of regeneration,
(To Baptize believers & to reconcile people to God through confession)

6. To Guard the Body of Christ
(Protect the Holy Mysteries and People of the Church).
