"Terrorist Financing": Canada Splits in Half as Federal Government Moves to Freeze Personal Accounts of Anyone Supporting the Freedom Convoy

Canada's Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said banks will be able to freeze personal accounts of anyone linked with the Freedom Convoy protests without any need for a court order, broadening the country's "Terrorist Financing" rules to cover crowdfunding platforms and cryptocurrencies.

"If your truck is being used in these illegal blockades, your corporate accounts will be frozen, the insurance on your vehicle will be suspended."

The Premiers of Alberta, Manitoba, Quebec, and Saskatchewan immediately let it be known that they are opposed to Trudeau's divisive decision to invoke the Emergencies Act on the truckers, with Premier François Legault saying it is not time to "throw oil on the fire."
