Why Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is Getting DLC INSTEAD Of Mario Kart 9 Releasing

Nintendo announced during their February 2022 Nintendo Direct that they will be releasing DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe called a Booster Pack. This will contain 48 Remastered Courses from other Mario Kart Games. There was hope that Nintendo would announce Mario Kart 9/Crossroads because Mario Kart 8 came out for the Wii U back in 2014. Is it time for Nintendo to move on?
