Rally Song for the Canadian Convoy

Jolie Blue goes deep into the Rocky Mountains and does a bunch of drugs. Last May I released a 7 song EP "Picante" about a Western Canadian's jaunt through Central America. After a handful of fall '21 shows, Covid just being a general pain in the ass for gig-booking, I didn't have much else on the go, and my songwriting had turned to shit. So off I went, in search of a good song disguised as a woman…. It's about a Western Canadian's jaunt through Central America, and the things he seen and done.

After a night of drunken debauchery I was left looking like the train wreck I had always wanted to be. After all what did I have to complain about? The women were gorgeous, the men were cool. The vices and the self loathing was rampant, which calls for a good time all of the time. My second line of cocaine came the night after the first.

Another night of hard drinking, I was so excited to drink all of the time at that point, I recall referring the conversation at work constantly back to "How I wish I was drunk right now"…. and it was around that time that I realized I had been unable to beat the noise, and therefore was becoming the noise. The two went to Lake Louise for liquor and smokes, as we do, and headed back up the mountain as I started coming down.
