To a follower, Jesus is a Master.
To a fan, Jesus is a magic wand.

To a follower, Jesus is someone to live for.
To a fan, Jesus is someone to leverage.

To a follower, Jesus is the one and only.
To a fan, Jesus is one of many.

To a follower, Jesus is Lord.
To a fan, Jesus is Rabbi.

Followers are faithful.
Fans are fickle.

They want to be close enough to Jesus to get all the benefits, but not so close that it requires anything from them. Jesus has a lot of fans these days. Fans who cheer for Him when things are going well, but who walk away when it’s a difficult season. fans who sit safely in the stands cheering, but they know nothing of the sacrifice and pain of the field. 2. ONLY FOLLOWERS LIVE FOR JESUS’ AGENDA WHILE FANS LEVERAGE JESUS FOR THEIR AMBITIONS.

Luke 5:10-11

Don’t fear the loss; focus on life.
Don’t fear to leverage your life for the Lord; focus on the lives of people you will impact.

Leverage your life for the lost because
1. God loves them.
2. Jesus died for them.
3. Holy Spirit came to empower us to reach them.
4. They are going to hell without Jesus.
5. Our life will be meaningless if we don’t live for eternal values.

3. FOLLOWERS GO FISHING WHERE FANS GO TO HAVE FUN.

Go fishing where others are swimming.

The first principle of fishing is you go where the fish are.
The first principle of evangelism is you go to where the people.
You got to find your pond because you can’t find fish in the pool.

If you don’t speak fish, throw down the line.
Don’t say “No” for them.
The church is more likely to criticize rather than to evangelize. We have “the great distraction” instead of “great commission.”

Put the bait, throw the line into the sea.
Your testimony is your bait.
If something bites, draw it toward you.
Fishing is not for photos but for follow up.

3x3 strategy!

6 Methods of Evangelism:
1. Confrontational (Acts 2)
Repent and be baptized, save yourselves from this corrupt generation.

2. Intellectual (Acts 17)
Paul debated with the philosophers on Mars Hill to convince them.

3. Testimonial (John 9)
One thing I do know. I was blind, but now I see!

4. Relational (Mark 5)
Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you.

5. Invitational (John 4)
The Samaritan woman at the well begged the people of the city to come and hear Jesus for themselves.

6. Serving (Acts 9)
Dorcas impacted her city by doing deeds of kindness.
